Appeal for Information Following Theft at St Mary's Church

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for information following a theft from St Mary's Church that occurred during the daytime on Wednesday 16th September 2026.

An iPad, which was used by the church to collect donations from visitors, has been stolen from the premises. The device is an important tool for supporting the church and its community activities.

We are asking for the public's assistance in helping us locate the iPad and identify the person or persons responsible for its theft. If you were in the area of St Mary's Church during the daytime on Wednesday, or if you witnessed anything suspicious, please get in touch. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen individuals acting suspiciously within or around the church, or anyone who has information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen device.
